Help Your Brain… Naturally

When was the last time you did something nice for your brain? I mean come on… we stress over being kind to our heart, we make sure we slather up with sunscreen for our skin, we wash our hair and trim our nails…but what about your brain?

Your brain does so much for you. He or she makes your entire body work. He or she does all your conscious thinking. Your brain even tells you when you’re doing something you shouldn’t. Where would you be without your brain?

In a coma that’s where.

Instead of being nice, we do things like:

  • eat junk food
  • over indulge in alcohol
  • smoke (ick!)
  • stay up late (guilty!)
  • watch too much TV
  • spend too much time on the computer
  • and more ungrateful things we should be ashamed of

Ok, so why not do some good things for your brain. Show him or her you love them. Show them you appreciate them and want them to stay around awhile.

Here’s a few suggestions:

  • Get enough sleep
  • Eat fish
  • Eat red, blue and black berries
  • Take fish oil
  • Drink lots of water
  • Don’t go too long between meals
  • Cut down on alcohol and junk food
  • Stop smoking
  • Cut down on computer time
  • Do crosswords or other puzzles…your brain loves to play!
  • Draw, paint, color
  • Listen to Baroque music

Now you know. It’s never too late to develop a better relationship with your brain…go ahead and do it today.
